Olympus 593 200 Hr. Ahead of Schedule

Patchway, England-Developmental test program for the Bristol Siddeley-SNECMA Olympus 593 engine for the Anglo-French Concorde supersonic transport is ahead of schedule. At present, about 1,300 hr. of tests have been completed—about 200 more than scheduled for the date. The tests are conducted here and at SNECMA’s Melun-Villaroche facility, the French government’s Saclay Propulsion Test Center and the British National Gas Turbine Establishment in Pyestock.
