Chemical Seeding Disperses Airport Fog
Sacramento, Calif.—Encouraging results so far in a fog-dispersal test program here indicate that the U.S. airline industry may be approaching a solution to the fog problem that costs it an estimated $75 million a year. During the first half of the test program, an airport closed by warm fog was opened on 11 occasions out of 16 attempts by seeding the fog layers from the air with chemicals.
