Washington—Applications Technology Satellite (ATS-F) set for launch May 30 from Cape Canaveral will be a year late reaching synchronous orbit because of procurement difficulties and over-optimistic scheduling. But the spacecraft is expected to pioneer engineering refinements over previous communications satellites.

Washington—Transatlantic Route Proceeding is emerging as the Civil Aeronautics Board’s method to cut losses of U. S. flag carriers in European tourist markets. All but two U. S. carriers have filed in the case, hearings on which will begin June 4 in Phoenix and continue here with additional hearings on June 11.
