The Close Air Support (CAS) sorties chart accompanying “Danger Close” (AW&ST March 30-April 12, p. 54) appears to be a clever way of minimizing the A-10’s true impact by included sorties flown by non-USAF aircraft. A more accurate presentation would show the A-10 accounting for nearly 25% of sorties flown.
