In regard to “Danger Close” (AW&ST March-30-April 12, p. 54), in light of the air defense systems coming into service and their layering and density, note that when the F-35 becomes operational it will be forced to fly an attack profile similar to the A-10’s.

The U.S. Navy’s Northrop Grumman X-47B accomplished the first autonomous aerial refueling of an unmanned aircraft on April 22.
