Don’t underestimate the potential for hobbyists to misuse unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), aka drones, inadvertently (AW&ST Dec. 21,2015-Jan. 3, 2016, p. 8). Recently I was walking in a national wildlife refuge in Concord, Massachusetts, when I spotted a drone flying about 50 ft. above the ground.

SpaceX successfully landed the first stage of its Falcon 9 launch vehicle after placing 11 satellites into low Earth orbit for Orbcomm on Dec. 21. The vertical landing on a surplus launch pad at Cape Canaveral AFS followed failed attempts to land the reusable first stage on an unmanned barge at sea.
