Work of the B. A. F. in the Third Battle of the Somme— The Royal Air Force with the British army in France played a most important part in the recent successes on the Somme. The destruction by R. A. F. fighting pilots of large numbers of enemy airplanes made the way clear for wholesale attacks bv low-ilying airplanes upon German infantry, guns and transport, so disorganizing and impeding what might otherwise have been an orderly retreat.
