American Press Commends Air Mail
Congressman Madden, of Illinois, it would seem has brought a hornet’s nest about his ears when he declared in the House of Representatives that the Air Mail service, “in his opinion, has a doubtful value.” For the newspapers of the country, potential molders of public opinion, have let it be known through crisp and pungent editorials that the Air Mail service, which effected a saving of $42,500 on the New York-Washing ton route last year, and $100,000 on the New York-Chicago route, must not be abandoned.
