Aircraft Machine Guns

The machine gun is the premier weapon in the struggle between the fighting forces of the air. Other weapons, such as bombs and larger calibered guns of special design are used in attacking ground targets and in meeting attacks from the ground, but the airman depends on his machine gun in his endeavor to destroy enemy fliers and, while thus busily engaged, to prevent his own destruction by opponents equally determined and enterprising.

Bombing Tests of Warships on June 21

The first of the bombing experiments to be jointly conducted by Army and Navy air forces with the radiocontrolled Iowa and with the ex-German worships as targets, is set for Tuesday, June 21, according to a report submitted to Admiral Wilson, Commander-in-Chief of the Atlantic Fleet, by a special board convened for the purpose.
