A Man-Driven Dirigible

Some time ago, I had in mind a small “man-driven dirigible” in which, by means of transmission devices analogous to those of bicycles, the muscular force of the passengers themselves would be utilized for propulsion. I called such a singular and original airship: “Cycle-Airship.”

On July 21, Frederick B. Patterson, President of the N.A.A., sent out to members the following call for the annual convention of the association, to be held during the International Air Races. The Annual Convention of the National Aeronautic Association of U.S.A., Inc., is hereby called, and in conformity with the action of the board of governors will be held at Dayton, Ohio, Oct. 2, 3 and 4, 1924.
