WOMEN WORKERS—Many reasons have been advanced by women aircraft workers who have decided to leave their jobs, but one of the strangest yet has been advanced by a number at Pratt & Whitney’s vast new plant at Kansas City. They told their exit interviewer that they were all right as long as they were moving about the machinery at the company’s school but that, after they actually went to work, the plant itself was so large that it frightened them.

Col. Joseph Benjamin Pate, recently retired from active duty in the Army, has been appointed special representative for TACA Airways System, with headquarters in Washington. Twenty of his 42 years in the Army were spent working with Spanish-speaking peoples.
