Army Air Forces today revealed the Curtiss-Wright XP-87 (AVIATION WEEK Sept. 1) as the first in a series of new all-weather fighters. The 620 mph. four-jet plane carries a crew of two and is designed to carry out combat interceptor or escort missions regardless of weather.
