Piper Aircraft Corp.’s distributors sold 1,573 planes during the past yeara marked gain over the previous year’s 1,161 and an indication of steadily increasing use of light aircraft for business. Analysis of civilian purchasers of Piper Tri-Pacer, Pacer and Super Cubs shows this ownership distribution: farmers and ranchers, 22.5%; manufacturers, 17%; construction firms, 14.5%; physicians and doctors, 13.4%; wholesalers and distributors, 6.7%; engineers and architects, 6.2%; salesmen, 5.5%; automobile dealers, 4.1%; all others, 10.1%.
