Tokyo—Japan Air Lines is preparing for a world-wide role in which its Douglas DC-8 jets, scheduled for delivery next year, will play a prime part. Also figuring prominently in the airline’s future planning is the short-medium range jet transport and the vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) type aircraft to meet economic competition in its domestic and Asian routes.

Naples, Italy—United States plans to supply several west European nations, including West Germany, with an atomic weapon delivery capability within the near future.
