The narrow margin by which the Senate recently defeated an amendment to slice the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Fiscal 1965 Apollo authorization by 10% (see p. 25) is a rather dismal commentary on how well our legislators understand the commitment they have already made on our national space program.
