The 100 companies and their subsidiaries which received the largest dollar volume of military prime contracts of $10,000 or more in fiscal year 1964 accounted for 73.4% of the United States total. This is a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from the 73.9% during fiscal year 1963.

Flexibility Underlies 727 Profit Potential

Washington—Vital factor in the Boeing 727 earning capabilities is its flexibility, which makes flights as short as 80 naut. mi. practical in schedule patterns which may have nonstop segments as long as 1,250 mi. This advantage was apparent from the time the 727 entered service (AW&ST Apr. 5, p. 37), and has been strengthened not only by reasonably low operating costs but also by an enthusiastic acceptance of the aircraft by air travelers.
