Wichita, Kan.—Sales of the Model 40 Lear Liner are expected to total just under 500 aircraft during the next decade, according to William P. Lear, Sr., president of Lear Jet Corp. Lear said the figure includes both corporate and airline sales and amounts to about 60% of the total market for this class of aircraft.

Microcircuits Add to Simulator Flexibility

Binghamton, N. Y.—Evolution of the digital flight simulator into a high-speed semiconductor microcircuit system has been accompanied by a paradoxical growth, rather than reduction, in over-all size. As the speed and flexibility of the central processor and its associated memories and input/output devices have increased, simulated functions have kept pace to a degree that probably would have reduced an analog machine to impossible complexity.

Washington—U. S. trunkline scheduled revenue passenger mileage is expected to increase 2-3 times during the next 10 years whether fares increase, decrease or remain at 1964 levels, according to the latest Civil Aeronautics Board staff traffic forecast.
