On July 19, 1967, at 1201:18 EDT, Piedmont Airlines Flight 22, a Boeing 727, N68650, and a Cessna 310, N3121S, owned by Lanseair, Inc., [Hendersonville, N.C.] were involved in a midair collision at an altitude of 6,132 ft. in the vicinity of Hendersonville, N.C., approximately 8 mi. southeast of the Asheville Municipal Airport.
