Carriers Urged to Act on Social Problems
Palo Alto, Calif.—Sociological problems are becoming an ever-increasing threat to the airlines at a time when a dismal financial outlook leaves the industry ill-prepared to cope with them. This was the theme sounded here at a recent meeting of world airline industry officials, who heard warnings that unless carriers took positive steps to cure noise, air pollution and land use problems, it would be done for them with punitive legislation.
