Non-trunks Bid to Attach Other Goals to Fare Rise
Washington—Ripples from trunklines’ fare increase proposals are spreading across the airline tariff spectrum as other facets of the industry attempt to use a possible boost as leverage to achieve other goals. In position statements outlining views scheduled to be presented in oral arguments before the Civil Aeronautics Board Sept. 4, supplemental, local service and all-cargo airlines sought to attach fare changes important to them onto the general domestic fare increases sought by the trunks.
