Sluggish Traffic Slows Revival of Midway

Chicago—City hopes of expanding scheduled service here at renovated Midway Airport have received a setback from sluggish airline traffic and wobbly economic conditions of the airlines. The world’s busiest airport as late as 1960, Midway has been eclipsed by Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, and it has been struggling since an $11million terminal and airport renovation was largely completed in late 1968 to build up a self-supporting alternate system of airline operations.
