Mariner Seeks Clues to Martian Life Forms
Pasadena, Calif.—Possibility of finding evidence pointing to the existence of some form of life on Mars will be explored in more depth by the Mariner 9 mission than by all previous spacecraft and telescopic explorations of the planet. The spacecraft, which was launched from National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s Kennedy Space Center May 30, is scheduled to begin orbiting Mars at about 4 p.m. PST, Nov. 13.
