Miami—Demand for all-cargo aircraft by the world’s airlines continues to grow, but airfreight volume has not yet reached sufficient levels to justify the development of a new aircraft designed specifically for cargo operations. Delegates attending the recent Society of Automotive Engineers meetings here (AW&ST Apr. 30, p. 26) agreed that the need for a specialized aircraft and supporting equipment to provide a total freight transportation system will emerge sometime in the future.
