Srams Disarmed for Operational Tests
Portsmouth, N. H.—Air Force and Atomic Energy Commission will remove fissionable nuclear material from some stockpiled warheads for the Boeing shortrange attack missile (SRAM) so they may be used as joint test units for the missile. The strategic warheads will be disarmed, but the fuzing sequence used to arm a nuclear warhead for the missile will be retained for operational testing of SRAM.
