Yf-16 Stresses Advanced Technology

Ft. Worth—Advanced technology plays a major role in an attempt to achieve goals of low cost and high maneuverability performance for the USAF/General Dynamics YF-16 lightweight fighter. There also has been a concerted effort here at General Dynamics’ Convair Aerospace Div., which has responsibility for the project, to configure the YF-16 as an operational vehicle from the start, even though there is no official government indication that a production contract will be forthcoming.
