Beech to Increase Production Rate

Wichita, Kans.—Record backlog, with orders continuing at a brisk pace, is spurring Beech Aircraft Corp. to increase its 1975 production rate and step up research and development of new models. Despite what company executives term as a “crisis of uncertainty” in the nation’s economic situation, they anticipate that Beech will tally approximately $250 million in business aircraft sales next year, compared with $210 million in 1974, which was a record year despite constraints imposed on deliveries because of strikes by two major engine suppliers, United Aircraft of Canada, Ltd., and Teledyne Continental.
