Intermodal Cargo Test Decision Nears
Oakland, Calif.—Availability and cost of a USAF/Lockheed C-5A transport are the critical factors in the upcoming decision as to whether an air cargo experiment called Project Intact will move into its operational phase. Backers of Project Intact, an acronym for “intermodal air cargo test,” hope to initiate commercial cargo flights this fall, thus launching the most intensive effort yet to advance the air cargo industry (Aw&sT Oct. 28, 1974, p. 107; Mar. 25, 1974, p. 24).
