F-16XL Readied for Flight Testing
Ft. Worth, Tex. —Flight testing of General Dynamics’ new company-funded F16XL cranked-arrow wing fighter, scheduled to fly here July 6, will include simulated air-to-air and air-to-ground combat tactics. The aircraft will make its first flight powered by a Pratt & Whitney F100PW-200 turbofan engine, with General Dynamics test pilot Jim McDinney at the controls.
