Shuttle Crew Trains for Night Landing
Johnson Space Center—Space shuttle management reexamined the possibility of landing shuttle Mission 8 at Kennedy Space Center as both the first night and first Kennedy landing of the program but decided flight safety benefits of an Edwards AFB, Calif., landing outweighed other considerations, according to USAF Lt. Gen. James A. Abrahamson, who heads the shuttle program.
