Mojave, Calif.—Skyfox jet trainer, the extensively modified Lockheed T-33 derivative conceived and developed by the Skyfox Corp., offers prospective users a training aircraft with performance and fuel efficiency equivalent to current generation high-performance jet trainers while retaining the standard T-33’s stability and handling characteristics.

Usaf Selects F-15 as Dual-role Fighter

Washington—Air Force is planning to spend $1.5 billion to modify 392 McDonnell Douglas F-l5s to meet air-to-ground and deep interdiction requirements for its new dual-role fighter with first delivery scheduled for 1988. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Charles A. Gabriel said Feb. 24 selection of the F15E as the dual-role fighter was based on comprehensive flight evaluation and analyses of derivatives of the Air Force’s two front-line fighters, the F-15C/D and the General Dynamics F-L6 (AW&ST Feb. 13, p. 15).

French Testing Epsilon in Trainer Role

Mont de Marsan, France—Aerospatiale’s Epsilon military trainer has begun flight verification and acceptance tests here in preparation for its introduction into French Air Force student pilot training later this year. The first production Epsilons are being operated by the Air Force’s CEAM (Centre d’Experiences Aeriennes Militares), which is responsible for qualifying the aircraft and certifying the initial group of Epsilon instructors.
