Human performance factors—In view of the fact that the captain had received wind-shear training, that he was aware of the existing meteorological conditions and the hazards associated with them and that he had anticipated an encounter with wind shear after becoming airborne, the Safety Board considered various factors in an attempt to determine why he elected to take off and why the first and second officers supported that decision.
