25th Shuttle Launch Will Inaugurate New Pad, Make Halley Observations

Kennedy Space Center—Space shuttle's 25th mission set for launch Jan. 25 will inaugurate use of a second shuttle launch pad, deploy the second tracking and data relay satellite and deploy and retrieve a spacecraft that will provide information on Halley's Comet.

Starship 1 is being readied for first flight on Feb. 17 and work on five other Beech Starship prototypes is continuing at temporary quarters in Beech's Wichita facility. The main Starship production line is being rearranged as well for more efficient work flow.
