Airbus Industrie Launching Production for New A330/a340 Simultaneously

Paris—Airbus Industrie will be able to launch production of its two new proposed wide-body transports—the twin-engine A330 and four-engine A340—almost simultaneously and expects to certify them approximately five months apart in 1991-92 owing to their high percentage of commonality and their use of the same fuselage cross-section as the consortium's existing A300/A310 aircraft.
