Bird Strike Suspected As Cause Of B-1B Crash That Killed Three
Lancaster, Calif.—An Air Force/Rockwell B-1B bomber on a routine training mission from Dyess AFB, Tex., crashed on Sept. 28 about 60 mi. southeast of Pueblo, Colo. The final radio transmission from a crewmember indicated the aircraft had suffered bird strikes and had “lost engines three and four with an engine on fire.”
