Air Force Seeks Approval to Begin Long-Range Cruise Missile Program
WASHINGTON The Air Force is seeking a Defense Aquisition Board (DAB) meeting before the end of the year to consider initiating a long-range conventional cruise missile (LRCCM) program, according to a senior service official. The technologies required to develop such a missile have already matured enough to warrant a demonstration/validation effort, but an operational requirement for LRCCM is still being defined, Lt. Gen. George Monahan, principal Air Force deputy for acquisition, told the Cruise Missile Association last week.
