KENNEDY SPACE CENTER Eureca—the reusable science satellite that NASA is set to retrieve from orbit on the next shuttle mission—is experiencing problems that raise doubts about whether it will ever fly again. Another problem with the European Retrievable Carrier, as it is formally known, has raised shuttle safety concerns, but NASA has agreed to bring the 4.5-ton spacecraft back to Earth in Endeavour's cargo bay as a "non-compliance item."

Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air are threatening to withhold payment of all passenger facility charges at SeattleTacoma International and Portland International airports to protest nonpayment by MarkAir. Alaska Air Group last week accused MarkAir and Reno Air of not remitting PFCs they had collected from passengers using the two airports.
