MCDONNELL DOUGLAS OPENS F/A-18E/F LINE

NEW YORK McDonnell Douglas has opened the final assembly line for the F/A-18E/F at its suburban St. Louis facilities and has begun the buildup of the forward fuselage section for the first of the upgraded Hornets. The kickoff of F/A-18E/F assembly at McDonnell complements that begun at Northrop Grumman in May, when workers there started manufacturing the aft fuselage for the first of the upgraded Hornets.
