PARIS MUNICH European political leaders are scrambling to save two key strategic program proposals even as they prepare to lead a U.N.-sponsored international peacekeeping force in Afghanistan. Prospects for the A400M airlifter, an essential element of Europe’s new rapid reaction force, appeared to improve last week following what appeared to be a lastminute breakthrough in Germany, whose still-undecided 73-aircraft commitment is considered the key to the program.

Brazil Certifies Legacy Business Jet

New Orleans On Dec. 10, Brazil’s Aerospace Technical Center awarded Embraer a type certificate for the company’s Legacy business jet. Approval by the FAA and the European Joint Aviation Authorities is scheduled for early next year, according to Embraer.
