The near-term fate of military aircraft programs will look a lot like most overall defense budgets as countries reel from the recession: Not that bad in the end, but when compared with historic growth of recent years, not that good either. Belt-tightening is pervasive and even though no major program has ended abruptly—or even been capped, as was the F-22—nearly every program is experiencing pain and pressure.
