Cranfield University Proposes C-130J Hydrogen Testbed Cranfield University is proposing conversion of a Lockheed Martin C-130J Hercules into a platform for flight-testing hydrogen propulsion technologies in the UK. The military transport’s four-turboprop layout would allow inflight testing of hydrogen combustion engines with flexibility and safety, researchers say.
