Standards Problems Trouble Designers

The problem of keeping U. S. aircraft quality high in face of a continuing Defense Dept, trend toward lower nonaeronautical standards in components specifications is giving industry engineers and designers a red tape headache. But aside from that problem industry observers are inclined to view as generally beneficial to business Defense Secretary Robert A. Lovett’s new directive calling for an integrated supply system for the several military departments.
