Justice Considers Gao Pricing Claims

Washington—General Accounting Office claims totaling over $10.8 million against four aerospace firms and their subcontractors for excessive pricing on military contracts are now before Justice Dept. for settlement. The prime contractors and amounts involved are: Westinghouse Electric Co., $5.8 million; Western Electric Co., $2.6 million; Boeing Co., $1.3 million, and General Dynamics/Convair, $1 million.

Eureka, Calif.—Air supply of food and equipment to flood-isolated areas of Northern California gained momentum last week with the first full day of good flying weather. Although officials here had expressed concern early last week that continuing rains and melting snow might produce a new flood threat, by mid-week rivers were receding and the weather outlook improved.
