Slick Airways Flight 12, a Douglas C-54BDC, N384, operating as a scheduled cargo flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York, N. Y., to Logan International Airport, Boston, Mass., with a stop at Bradley Field, Windsor Locks, Conn., crashed at 0821:35, Mar. 10, 1964, while making an instrument approach to Runway 4R at Logan International Airport.

Seattle—Boeing Co. is moving through the Critical Design Review of the Lunar Orbiter with the program essentially on schedule and few, if any. further changes anticipated. The Critical Design Review, begun in early December, is due to be completed early this month, when design freeze will be placed on the program.

New York—Changes in the Apollo space suit include increased freedom of movement and improved cooling and visual protection systems. The design refinements were described by the space suit development project manager, John C. Beggs of United Aircraft Corp.’s Hamilton Standard Div., the prime contractor.

El Segundo, Calif.—Stationary orbit communications satellite capable of broadcasting live television directly to schools for educational instruction or even to individual homes for viewing on conventional consumer sets is being proposed by Hughes Aircraft Co., based on an extension of its Syncom satellite experience and existing communications and space booster technology.
