These are needed primarily for military operations, both for jet interceptors kept at the ready and for other military aircraft that may have to use forward airfields unequipped with ground starting equipment.

A machine which promises to slash the time and cost of making experimental or custom-designed semiconductor microcircuits has been developed by the National Cash Register Co. (NCR), Dayton, under Air Force sponsorship. A complete set of masks for an emitter-coupled logic gate has been produced in less than 1 hr.
