Tulsa, Okla.—Apollo spacecraft/lunar excursion module (LEM) adapter No. 11 now is in the jigs at North American Aviation’s Space and Information Systems Div. here. The division has delivered the first spacecraft/LEM adapter (SLA) which will be flown on the Saturn 1B/Apollo mission from Cape Kennedy in January.

S-1c for First Moon Flight to Be Accepted in June, 1968

Wichita, Kan.—Saturn 1C-7 first stage of the Saturn 5 vehicle that will launch three U. S. astronauts to the moon in 1969, is scheduled to be accepted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration at Cape Kennedy on June 17, 1968. The Saturn 5/S-1C program summary Plan 8, approved last month by NASA, is the most recent manufacturing outline revision by which the Boeing Co. is producing the S-1C and integrating the entire Saturn 5 system.
