Uncertain Position Cited in Pan Am Crash

A Pan American World Airways Boeing 707 on a flight from Fort de France, Martinique, crashed into Chance Mountain, Montserrat, 2,760 ft. above sea level and 32 mi. southwest of its destination of St. Johns, Antigua. All 21 passengers and the crew of nine were killed.

The New Soviet Challenge

Today, we are under a renewed challenge from the Soviet Union for strategic superiority. This challenge has been given surprisingly little national attention. There is no sense at all of national urgency. Over and above the demands of Vietnam and our domestic problems, I think our casual response to the new Soviet strategic threat can be explained in part by the gradual steady development of the new Soviet strategic weapons.
