Airline Reliance on Service Indices Varies

New York-Quality-of-service indices have developed over the years in trunk airlines, but their uses as management or cost control checks vary among carriers. The reason for the variation is that not all airlines place equal reliance on them as infallible measurements that quality of service is in fact quality, or that it actually is impressing passengers as quality.

Apollo 14 Will Probe Light Flashes

Houston-Apollo 14 astronauts next December hope to uncover more information about mysterious flashes of light which were reported by previous crews on lunar missions. The flashes, believed to be cosmic rays, were described variously as dots or streaks by crewmen of Apollos 11, 12 and 13. The crews of Apollos 8 and 10 said they saw no such lights.
