Data System to Speed Dc-10 Flight Tests

Long Beach, Calif.—McDonnell Douglas Corp. will use five aircraft and advanced data handling techniques to meet the October, 1971, target date for Federal Aviation Administration certification of the DC-10 transport. The first production aircraft will make its maiden flight late this month, pending the passing of additional critical tests on the second aircraft to roll off the production line here.
