N. Y. Area Commuters Seek Acceptance

New York—With the problem of sheer economic survival largely behind them, the commuter airlines operating in the New York terminal area are fighting for greater public awareness of their existence and acceptance of their services. Since their small size precludes anything but the most minimal advertising budgets and limits the non-monetary inducements they can offer to independent travel agents, the commuters perforce must depend principally on word-of-mouth and the good will—and knowledgeability—of the reservations personnel of certificated airlines.

Exports Expected to Reach 50% By 1980

Dallas—U. S. business aircraft manufacturers are shaping their international marketing strategies to fit a goal of exporting 50% of their annual production by 1980. Considering that the industry is now expanding its production capacity to achieve a delivery rate of more than 20,000 business aircraft annually by that time, this means that it is aiming to export approximately 10,000 airplanes a year by 1980.
