Reading Show Puts Focus on Helicopters

Reading, Pa.—Helicopter exhibitors moved into the spotlight at the 26th annual Reading Air Show here with static and flight displays of new models complementing exhibit booths in the packed hangar area. The exhibit center sold out with a total of 209 booths, 10 more than were sold in 1974, while outdoor ramp displays at the June 10-13 show exceeded by more than 12 last year’s 81.

Flight Control System Trials Planned

Northridge, Calif.—Quadruply redundant digital flight control system will undergo flight trials in West Germany next year in an experimental program using a Lockheed F-104G aircraft modified as a control configured vehicle (CCV). The experimental system, being developed by Messerschmitt-Boelkow-Blohm under contract to the German Ministry of Defense, will make use of key elements—quadruple airborne digital computers and strap-down inertial measuring units—supplied by Teledyne Systems Co. here.
